With each paper art doll I make -- the ones that aren't custom made to a client's specifications, I like to challenge myself to try something new. For this bride, I tried several new things: first up was hair pulled curling back into her curly bun. It's very easy for paper hair to look too big, too thick, so the hair alone is always a bit of a challenge. The second thing I wanted to try on her was a special hair accessory. In this case, I had come across a cool bridal hair accessory on pinterest that was spiky, with perhaps little pearls or gems at the ends.
Now, just recently at Michaels, I came across these micro beads that would be kinda awesome for hair accessory detailing, but at the time I made this bride, I decided to go with paper (of course!). It's super delicate and easily bent, but it works. I would have rather gotten a teeny circle at each tip, but these things were SO small, I just went with squares. Next time, I'll push for circles...or those microbeads!
