When I think of paper filigree, I think of lacy, curling shapes - open and ornery. I've made a lot of these since I began making paper art, but I'm always drawn back to the solid rolls and rings. They are sturdy, with clean, solid lines. For a while, I've made a simple snowflake design made completely with "closed coils" (paper rolled up, allowed to expand into an open coil, and the end is then glued down, closing the coil). This new design is simple with bold lines and is all solid rings. I love it!
